Our Story
How it Started

Who are We?

Royalafrican Art Foundation is a non-profit organization, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was founded in 2008 by David Oduki to facilitate Visual African Art exchange between Africa and the rest of the world. Royalafrican had it’s first exhibition + children’s art workshops at The Uganda Museum in 2009

How it is going

What We Do

Since then, The Royalafrican Art Foundation is engaged in delivering programs in Africa to benefit children. These high-quality children’s programs include causes to set up libraries and museum spaces where local children can come and interact with the rest of the world via workshops, art residencies, seminars to offer outstanding educational programs to both the kids and the parents.

Our Mission

Royalafrican Art Foundation is a non-profit organization which aims to facilitate Visual African Art exchange between Africa and the rest of the world through workshops, seminars, residencies and creation of museums and libraries for kids in Africa. Royalafrican.org aims to improve the cultural access to, and visibility of, art. Focusing on the creation, curation of art within the public realm, acting as a dynamic liaison between artists, the local community, local businesses to place artwork that achieves shared goals.

  • Provide Access to Art in a safe environment for community artists, kids and their families where the importance of art as education is brought to the forefront.
  • Royalafrican.org embraces cultural initiatives & diversity, servicing a broad range of local communities as both an incubator and catalyst to nurture, harness, initiate and foster creative projects while inviting and encouraging local public participation.
  • Royalafrican.org operates as an open forum for constructive dialogue and creative conversations, while simultaneously serving as a platform for creative exchanges, cultural production, and artistic collaborations to include workshops, seminars, residencies and competitions.

    Royalafrican Art Collection

    Royalafrican Collection of Art is comprised of over 200 Art works by Dutch contemporary artists ( worth over EUR 500,000 ). This growing permanent collection of Art is one of the largest collections of European Art in Africa. This collection is a great asset in facilitating African understanding of other cultures. This given that not many African kids have the opportunity to visit museums abroad. In contrast, museums in Europe are filled up with the best African Art works.

    Where does your donation go?

    Royalafrican Art Foundation is a non-profit organization that uses over 73% of donations for the donor programs. The remaining percentage of the donations go into supporting the programs to include marketing, advocacy and administration.
